In this video, I take you with me for a day exploring the beautiful city of Avignon in the South of France, known for its rich historical and cultural heritage.
From walking through the streets to discovering iconic spots, you’ll hear natural French in a real-life setting, while following a simple and engaging story.
👉 It’s the perfect type of content to improve your comprehension without feeling overwhelmed.
Why vlogs are one of the best ways to learn French
If you’re trying to improve your French, you’ve probably already heard that exposure to real content is key.
The idea is simple: to learn a language effectively, you need to expose yourself to French that you can mostly understand, even if you don’t catch every word. This is often called comprehensible input. It’s how you train your brain to understand the language naturally, without translating.
👉 The good news is that YouTube is one of the best resources for this.
It offers a huge variety of content at different levels, which makes it easier to find videos that are just slightly above your current level, the sweet spot for progress.
And among all formats on YouTube, vlogs are especially powerful.
A vlog (short for “video blog”) is a video that follows someone in their daily life. They're usually informal, natural, and grounded in real situations, which makes them much easier and more entertaining to follow.
And that’s exactly why it’s so powerful for language learning:
You hear real, everyday French
You learn vocabulary in context
You see what’s happening, which helps you understand even if you don’t catch every word
You get used to the rhythm and flow of spoken French
👉 In other words, it’s much closer to how French is actually spoken in real life than traditional learning materials.
Turn this video into a real French lesson
Watching videos to learn French is great.
But if you want to improve faster, you might need a bit more structure.
That’s exactly why I created the Video Club.
The Video Club is a library of 100+ YouTube videos turned into structured French programs.
Instead of just watching passively, you work on each video in a focused and effective way:
Watch the video without ads, with optional subtitles
Read the full transcript while listening
Learn key vocabulary in context
Practice with interactive flashcards and quizzes
Reuse what you’ve learned with simple exercises
👉 It helps you build a real habit and make consistent progress, even with just a few minutes a day.
For this vlog, I’ve created a free program so that you can experiment with the Video Club and see if the method works for you.
In this free program, you will find:
Full transcript to understand everything
Vocabulary explained in context
Interactive flashcards to remember new words
A comprehension quiz to test yourself
Downloadable audio to practice anywhere
All you need to do is create a free account to access it.
